IELTS,
band 7.0 – 9.0
by examiners.
Focused 1:1 preparation for IELTS Academic — the test most Vietnamese students need for UK, Australian, Canadian and New Zealand universities. All four skills coached by IELTS-trained mentors, with essays and speaking mocks marked to examiner standard.
The International English Language Testing System — the world's most widely accepted English proficiency test for university admissions, immigration and professional registration.
The English test that actually gets you in.
The IGCSE — International General Certificate of Secondary Education — is a globally recognised qualification typically taken between ages 14 and 16. It is designed, examined and awarded by the University of Cambridge (and also offered by Edexcel/Pearson), and it is the single most important credential your child will earn before A-Level, IB Diploma or university admissions.
In Vietnam, IGCSE is offered at virtually every international school — BIS, BVIS, ISHCMC, SSIS, EIS, TAS and many others. But international school classrooms are built for the average of 20 students, not for your child. Times Edu is where students come to close gaps, push past plateaus and turn predicted B grades into final A*s.
Why IGCSE matters
Strong IGCSE results directly determine your child's A-Level or IB subject choices, influence university offers (many UK universities include IGCSE grades in their conditional offers), and build the academic foundation that determines every step afterwards. A single C grade in IGCSE Maths can quietly close doors that should have stayed open.
How Times Edu is different
We assign one dedicated mentor per student — usually a CIE-registered examiner or a specialist with a 10+ year track record teaching the exact syllabus your child is sitting. No rotating tutors. No generic worksheets. Every lesson is built around your child's most recent mock paper.
Reading. Writing. Listening. Speaking.
Every Times Edu IELTS student is coached across all four skills by a mentor who is personally scoring at band 8.5+ themselves.

Four principles that define every Times Edu lesson.
Our coaching philosophy has been shaped by seven years of teaching IGCSE students inside international schools across Vietnam.
Syllabus-first
Every lesson maps directly to a numbered learning objective in the official Cambridge or Edexcel syllabus.
Past-paper driven
We do not teach from textbooks alone. Real past papers from the last 8 years anchor every session.
Examiner feedback
Every homework is marked against the real mark scheme — with examiner commentary your child can actually use.
Parent visibility
Monthly progress reports, grade predictions and a dedicated WhatsApp channel with your child's mentor.
What our IGCSE students actually achieve.
I went from band 6.0 to band 7.5 in eleven weeks. Writing Task 2 was my killer — and the examiner-style marking showed me exactly what the band 7 descriptor actually meant in practice.
My daughter needed a 7.0 for her UK offer and had been stuck at 6.5 for months. Four sessions with Times Edu on Task 2 and she got her 7.0 on the next sitting.
Speaking Part 3 was where I kept losing band. My mentor at Times Edu had been a real examiner — she rebuilt my answers week by week and I finished on 8.0.

My child is stuck at band 6.5 in Writing. Can Times Edu fix this?
Yes — this is one of the most common starting scenarios. The jump from 6.5 to 7.0 in Writing is almost always about understanding the band descriptors and fixing two or three recurring errors. We can usually demonstrate progress within 3–4 sessions.
Do you prepare for IELTS General as well as Academic?
Our primary focus is IELTS Academic, which is what most Vietnamese students need for university admission. We can also support General training students — please mention this at the diagnostic and we will assign the right mentor.
How many hours per week should my child book?
Most of our IELTS students book 3–4 hours per week across multiple skills, for 8–12 weeks. Heavier schedules are possible for students with a fast-approaching test date.
How much does IELTS coaching cost?
Our signature 1:1 IELTS coaching starts from $65 per 90-minute session, with full-prep packages typically running 16–24 sessions. Full details on our Tuition page.
Can you help with test registration at the British Council or IDP?
Yes. We will advise you on which test centre, which date, and which computer-delivered or paper-based option best suits your child. We also book the real test together at the end of the preparation cycle.
Do you offer online IELTS coaching?
Yes. More than half of our IELTS students learn fully online via our custom platform with live 1:1 video, Speaking mocks via webcam and Writing feedback delivered digitally.
