The A-Level is the gold-standard pre-university qualification, taken between the ages of 16 and 18. Designed and awarded by boards such as Cambridge International (CIE) and Edexcel International A-Level, it is the credential trusted by Oxbridge, Russell Group and Ivy League admissions offices worldwide. Students typically specialise in three or four subjects, going far deeper than at IGCSE

In Vietnam, A-Level is offered at most international schools — BIS, BVIS, ISHCMC, SSIS, EIS, TAS and others. But those classrooms are built for the average of twenty students, not for your child. Times Edu is where A-Level students come to close gaps, master exam technique and turn predicted B grades into final A*s

Why A-Level matters

A-Level results are the single biggest factor in university admissions. They decide which offers your child receives, whether conditional offers are met, and which degree paths stay open. A single dropped grade can be the difference between a firm offer and a rejection — which is why specialist, subject-by-subject preparation matters so much at this stage

How Times Edu is different

We assign one dedicated mentor per student — usually a CIE-registered examiner or a specialist with a 10+ year track record teaching the exact syllabus your child is sitting. No rotating tutors. No generic worksheets. Every lesson is built around your child's most recent mock paper.

From AS to final A2.

Most Times Edu A-Level students begin with us at the start of AS and stay through to A2. Here is what a two-year journey typically looks like.

Term 1 · AS

Foundations

Bridging from IGCSE, mapping the full AS specification, building core technique.

Term 2 – 3 · AS

AS mastery

Weekly content delivery, past-paper drills, AS mock series and feedback.

Term 4 – 5 · A2

A2 content

New topics, synoptic links back to AS, extended-response technique.

Term 6 · A2

Final sprint

Full mocks, predicted-grade review, UCAS / university application support.

Four principles that define every Times Edu lesson.

Our coaching philosophy has been shaped by seven years of teaching A Level students inside international schools across Vietnam.

01

Syllabus-first

Every lesson maps directly to a numbered learning objective in the official Cambridge or Edexcel syllabus.

02

Past-paper driven

We do not teach from textbooks alone. Real past papers from the last 8 years anchor every session.

03

Examiner feedback

Every homework is marked against the real mark scheme — with examiner commentary your child can actually use.

04

Parent visibility

Monthly progress reports, grade predictions and a dedicated WhatsApp channel with your child's mentor.

Two A*s in Maths and Further Maths, plus an A in Physics. Imperial College was the goal and Times Edu got us there. Our mentor's past-paper library alone was worth the fee.

My son needed A*A*A for Cambridge Engineering. Times Edu planned every week of A2 for us — and we got the offer. Beyond grateful.

A in Economics and A in Business — both subjects I was failing a year ago. Times Edu rebuilt my understanding from the ground up.

Still have questions? Book a free 60-minute diagnostic and our academic advisor will answer every one.

Can you support both Cambridge International A-Level and Edexcel International A-Level?

Yes. We teach both specifications and will match your child's mentor to the exact board and syllabus their school is following. In most subjects the content overlaps 80%+, but the paper structure and marking differ — and our mentors know both.

Can my child switch from IB Diploma to A-Level mid-way?

It is possible but needs careful planning. We have helped several students make this transition. Book a free diagnostic and we will advise honestly on whether the switch makes sense for your child's target universities.

How many subjects should my child take at A-Level?

Most UK universities require three A-Levels for admission, with four being common for top applicants to Oxbridge, Imperial or medicine. We will recommend a subject combination based on your child's university and career goals.

How much does A-Level tutoring cost?

Our signature 1:1 A-Level mentoring starts from $75 per 90-minute session, reflecting the seniority of our subject specialists. Multi-subject packages include a discount. Full details on our Tuition page.

Do you help with UCAS applications and university choices?

Yes. Every Times Edu A-Level student receives university application support as part of their package — personal statement review, predicted-grade strategy, and university-list calibration based on realistic target offers.

Can you tutor students fully online?

Yes. Around half of our A-Level students study fully online via our custom platform with live 1:1 video, shared whiteboards, and recorded replays. We teach students in Hanoi, Da Nang, Singapore, the UAE and the UK.

From AS to offer letter — we walk it with you.

Your child's free 60-minute A-Level diagnostic includes a subject-by-subject gap analysis, a grade prediction and a term-by-term roadmap through to final A2. Worth $60 — free for the first 50 families this intake.
