Speaking with Times Edu, Mr. Hoang is always open and willing to share his approaches to learning as well as working in a professional English-speaking environment. With experience working in multicultural settings and interacting with people from many different countries, he recognized early on the importance of English across virtually every field. Thanks to his passion for foreign languages from a young age and his strong ability to absorb new knowledge, Mr. Hoang developed a solid foundation in English, alongside proficiency in other languages such as French and Chinese.
Sharing his approach to language learning, Mr. Hoang believes that young people today have access to far more tools and resources for learning English, including television programs, movies, magazines, blogs, and dedicated English teaching and learning applications. However, he still advises his students to keep a dedicated notebook with them at all times so that whenever they encounter unfamiliar English vocabulary or knowledge, they can immediately write it down. At the end of each day, students should spend 30 minutes to one hour researching the new information they have recorded and adding further notes. By repeating this process consistently, they can apply the “spaced repetition” method. The following day, they review what they learned the previous day, then revisit the same material after 3 days, 7 days, and 14 days. Mr. Hoang believes that through repeated reviews at spaced intervals, students can develop a strong understanding and retain the knowledge much more deeply.
